Por utilizar sus palabras: "I don't know anyone that can conclusively say what Google's up to with respect to the Semantic Web, so I'm embarking on a small mission to figure this out - or at least shed a little more light. There are more reasons than I can think of for taking a look at this issue"

As you browse the web, it's easy to forget how many people visit the same pages and look for the same information. Whether you're researching advice on heart disease prevention or looking for museums to visit in New York City, many others have done the same and could have added their knowledge along the way.
What if everyone, from a local expert to a renowned doctor, had an easy way of sharing their insights with you about any page on the web? What if you could add your own insights for others who are passing through?

Wolfram Alpha is not a search engine . Perhaps it will one day become one, but currently it's exactly what its tagline says: a computational knowledge engine. However, it looks like Google , it provides you with answers and therefore most users will try to use it as a search engine, which doesn't always yield good results. Once you start asking it the right questions, it'll give you better answers. I've spent a couple of days with Wolfram Alpha, and I've learned to love it for all the ways it's different than search engines such as Google. Here are some guidelines which will help you shake off that "search engine" frame of mind and perhaps help you start using Wolfram Alpha to its full potential.

On Tuesday, Google introduced a feature called Rich Snippets which provides users with a convenient summary of a search result at a glance. They have been experimenting with microformats and RDFa, and are officially introducing the feature and allowing more sites to participate. While the Google announcement makes it clear that this technology is being phased in over time making no guarantee that your site's RDFa or microformats will be parsed, Google has given us a glimpse of the future of indexing. Read this article to find out about the underlying technology and how you can prepare you own content to work with this emerging technology.
