Hemos conocido a Pedro Szekeky en el LODLAM Summit 2013 y hemos asistido al taller sobre la herramienta que están desarrollando en la Southerm California University denominada Karma. Radically Open Cultural Heritage Data on the Web

What happens when hundreds of thousands of archival photos are shared with open licenses, then mashed up with geolocation data and current photos? Or when app developers can freely utilize information and images from millions of books? Like the web of documents that became the World Wide Web, a web of data is the goal of Linked Open Data.  This paper examines how a cultural, technological, and legal environment is enabling a growing ecosystem of open historical data.  We explore the fundamental elements of Linked Open Data, how a global community within libraries, archives and museums is beginning to play a critical role, and how we are moving toward broader adoption.

Linked Data at the Science Museum of London (Tristan Roddis and Cogapp) Vía W3C

The Science Museum in London, along with commercial agency Cogapp, have recently embarked on a project to convert their information to linked data format. So far the focus has been on consolidating disparate data by converting them to linked data which at the moment is still private not public. However, the museum is keen to investigate the possibility of releasing the data and is seeking advice on this.

John Voss cuenta el caso del trabajo realizado para, a través de linked open data, poder relacionar todos aquellos datos referidos a la Guerra Civil americana disponible en los datasets de las librerias, museos y archivos americanos y de esta manera descubrir nuevo conocimiento, nuevas perspectivas de este periodo histórico. Contenidos que se contextualizan para poder aprender más y más rápido y descubrir nuevos caminos.
